I dress less often these days, sadly, but I try and make time for it :) Using a purse is definitely a bit weird, but you get used to it, plus everything's close at hand!

I presume you dress a lot. Does using a purse bother you because you aren't that used to it and whatever you're wearing doesn't have enough(if any) pockets?

Hi Liz. Great, inspiring story and very nicely witten. I must say I was stressed while reading and woried about how it's going to end, so I sighted when I read everything went so smooth. You are now my heroine :-) I'm still very hidden and taking small steps to the external world, but I know 2019 will be big to me (working hard on it) :-) Your posts can definitly encourage girls like me, so please, keep writing.

Oh - and I must comment - you look stunning in this black dress and heels!

Hugs from "the other side of the pond"

In reply to <a href="https://www.myweekendshoes.com/2018/11/flying-pretty-and-a-vegas-adventure/#comment-96064">Rob / Racheal</a>.

If «this side of the pond» means the east side of the Atlantic, also known as (Western) Europe, then it can be easy. Domestic flights in Norway are fine, probably even easier than Liz’ story. No difference flying as a (trans) woman compared to (cis) man. Anything else would be against our discrimination protection law.

Self service check in and baggage drop, normally no ID control, friendly security check with or without body scanner and pat down (of left breast which was marked yellow by the scanner and the friendly lady suspected underwire bra even though my bra didn’t have underwire).

I don’t normally observe anyone staring even though I don’t wear make up. Neither odd response to my deep but mild bass voice (I’m not good at keeping my mouth shut if someone may benefit from my help or what ever). It’s the same around my home city and wherever I’ve so far been in Norway. Nothing to complain about really.

PS: Your writing about your experiences, not at least at work, inspired me. I thought: If you can, maybe I can as well. At the end of the year I’ve been living full time as a woman in all of 2018, last half of 2017 and half of the first half of 2017. It started with «project woman for a week» in mid February 2017, but went so well that I kept on doing it for nearly 12 weeks (except for 1 day as a man after 4 weeks because of a colleague’s funeral where, at the time still fairly fresh at it and not knowing the family or most attendees, I didn’t want to draw any attention (which I may very well not have done anyway)), and started again mid year and continued so far. Thank you for your eye opening inspiration.

:D :D I love hearing of people flying dressed! I think there's enough of a vacuum of information out there that makes it seem much more daunting than it actually is!!!

<3 <3 thank you for sharing, and thanks for reading! Hopefully I can keep finding interesting things to write about :S

I’ve flown in full regalia more times than I can count. I do tend to be running late so sometimes it’s the bear necessities until I get through security, including my bra form falsies. Once I get out of my own thoughts everything goes fine. The most challenging part for me continues to be lifting that overstocked luggage into the overhead bend.... and yes, hot or not heels at the airport when you have a connecting flight is just plain brutal. I love your articles!

I suppose I"m not surprised either - it does feel a bit like cheating do it in places that probably won't have a problem with it, but want to be as safe as possible!! I remain hopeful that the more exposure we can get, the better things will get :) <3 <3

I was going to run this morning, but laziness got me :S my bad :S I have a 15k coming up in a couple of months, so I should probably keep up the exercise! Plus this tummy ain't getting any smaller!

Good job on the doing and completing the half-marathon!! :)

And good to hear that flying pretty actually went quite uneventfully.. but I'm not surprised when it comes to places like SF and Vegas and most bigger airports in general. So yay!
